New Fair Manager – Shelly Bennett

Shelly has been involved in fairs since an early age. First as a 4-H exhibitor in Kitsap County, then as a 4-H parent/leader in Pierce County.
She became involved in Pierce County Fair as a board member in 2011 serving on several committees. She has always had a love for fairs and her desire is to see Pierce County Fair grow and thrive.
Shelly believes that the Pierce County Fair is an opportunity for youth and adults to showcase their accomplishments and for the public to experience a bit of our rich agriculture.

In Loving Memory – Betty Backstrom

“Managing a Fair on High”

The Pierce County Fair will always be known for being a fun family experience, shared by thousands each year. Many of those memories were because of a tireless individual.

It is now time to rest for Betty Backstrom, Fair Manager, Friend and Mentor.

Betty not only had a large, blood related family, but had an even larger extended Fair Family. All are sharing in the loss of someone so giving, we also share her love of life. As we travel our separate ways, we are extensions of what she brought into this world.

Rest in Peace…
