To improve the relations between urban and rural people. To provide social contacts. To help build community pride. To provide wholesome competition of various types. To offer recreation and amusement through promotion of carnivals, contests and competition. To encourage trade. To present the products of the farm, home and family. To provide recognition to 4-H, FFA, open show exhibitors and leaders. To further education by exhibiting, judging and demonstrating. To promote 4-H and FFA in Pierce County.

WHAT DOES A FAIR DIRECTOR DO?

Directors are volunteer members of the Association that plans, coordinates and operates the annual Pierce County Fair. These are citizens of Pierce County that simply wish to serve.

Some members are “At-Large”, which means they do not specifically belong to a member organization and are voted in annually. Other members are selected by their member organizations, such as 4-H, FFA, Pomona Grange, as well as the Garden Clubs and other organizations. These individuals acts the coordinators of their organizations.

Most Directors have specific job positions during fair as well as serving on different committees.
